Quiet Moment in Time
03:25
|
|||
Lately I've been waking up, on a different side of the bed
I don't know what I've been thinking, don't know if I've been drinking
and I've been making up these stories in my head
of you just laying here, just you staying here
staring up at the ceiling, familiar tracks in the walls
a quiet moment in time
but lately I've been waking up on a different side of the bed
don't know what I've been thinking, don't know if I've been drinking
Lately I've been waking up on a different side of the bed
don't know what I was thinking, don't know if I've been drinking
And I've got these memories in my head, of you just staying here
just you laying here
staring up at the ceiling, familiar cracks in the wall
a quiet moment in time
But lately I've been waking up on a different side of the bed
Don't know what I was thinking, don't know if I was drinking
on a different side of the bed

The Ones
03:38
|

Right side up, upside down, I can not be around the ones that keep you up at night. better for me, better for you when there is nothing left to do, its done there ain't no coming back, live your days fly by night everything will be alright, there ain't no looking back. I can say what I say, if you know what I mean, its done there ain't no coming back. Right side up, upside down, I can not be around the ones that keep you up at night.
We fear the ones that keep you up at night.
Take these pills, swallow them down you'll be safe, you'll be sound from the ones that keep you up at night
better for me better for you when there is nothing left to do, its done there ain't no coming back. Take the haze head up high we can get through this tonight, if we don't get blinded by the flash. It will come it always comes, when the lights go out, don't scream this breath may be your last. Take these pills swallow them down, you'll be safe, you'll be sound from the ones that keep you up at night.
We fear the ones that keep you up at night.

Summer Days
05:11
|
|||
Walk down these streets, snow covered wasteland all I see
frostbitten cheeks, cold toes, this landscape all I know
dream about the beach, the rolling waves
sunbleached hair and summer days
surrender my insides, close my eyes
to wicked times stuck inside
to dream about the beach, the rolling waves,
sunbleached hair and summer days
Here's to those days
Those days
Walk down these streets, snow covered wasteland all I see
frost bitten cheeks, cold toes, this landscape is my home
dream about the beach, the rolling waves
sunburned skin and summer days
surrender my insides, close my eyes
to wicked times stuck inside
to dream about the beach, the rolling waves
sunbleached hair and summer days
to dream about the beach, the rolling waves
sunburned skin and summer days
Here's to these days
Those days

Tell you a story about a guy I know, packed his shit, left and hit the road
Never to look back, left and that was that and headed on his way
Hitched roads out west, swam streams in the east
never once complained of his tired feet
just miles ahead a days a day, there will be no other way
met simple folk on country streets, in backwards bars serving warm whiskey to soothe his dreams, he never stayed long enough to get his name
spent two weeks in country jail, disturbing the peace speaking how he feels, roughed up a bit, 500 bail, cold showers and three warm meals.
Met a girl from the South, just north of state lines, a fair skinned brunette warm smiles and kind.
The secrets kept, he would not find. Days they traveled and nights they slept, a forming bond with passionate sex, no sights unseen they were arm in arm, two travelers causing no harm.
One day he wakes up to an awkward silence, finding nothing in his wake money gone and empty safe, not believing, not him, no not this place.
Went straight to the cops to explain his case, gave a description and drew her face, all was lost no one to blame, all he had was a first name.
We can dance, we can drink, we can sing, we can fight we can fuck. But what's there left to do, when enough is never enough.
We can live we can die we can raise our arms high we can steal we can lie, but what's there left to do, when time is never enough

The Reminder
03:08
|
|||
Waking up is getting easy, Its the falling asleep that's getting tough
I swear please believe me, but I thought I did enough
I never thought you would up and leave me
you up and left with all your stuff
These blank walls are the reminders,
of the memories of us
So I'll start again tomorrow, head up high without complain,
Here's to the pain and sorrow, left burning in the flames,
I never thought you would up and leave me
you up and left with all our stuff
This empty apartment the reminder
of what was never meant for us

Own It

We take what's ours. Chew them up and spit them out and leave you wondering. We stand up tall. We raise our heads, we hold them high, and keep on smiling. We must discuss, move if you are feeling this, don't be shy girl shake those hips. Please, don't rush. Raise your glass and hold it high, and keep on dancing. We take what's ours. Chew them up and spit them out and leave you wondering.
we leave you wondering
